Question:

Hi. I have followed the instructions in the book for Panels 3, but my Profile page is still displayed using the default Drupal Profile view. Here is the panel information:

Status: Enabled
Selection rule: This panel will be selected if Node being viewed is type "Profile".
Layout: Two column stacked
Node: type Node being viewed is type "Profile"
Right Side Panel: "Node being viewed" Content.

Have I missed something? I sincerely appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Many thanks,

Shane.

1. Update !!!

The Panels 3.7 module, when used in conjunction with the Advanced Profile Kit module, adds its own User Profile template to the list of available templates. This should be selected instead of the 'Node View' option , as it is set to display 'user' profiles according to the panel configuration we define. When configuring this option, instead of the 'Node View' option, my Profile page is displayed according to the new panel configuration. It didn't work the other way :-(

Another Update - It would appear that this doesn't work either, as it does not display the profile fields we created in the add-content list. I am really stumped now:

1. The 'Node View' panel option doesn't display the profile panel at all.
2. The 'APK panel' doesn't contain any of the profile fields we created.

Please HELP!!!

2. Another Update

Hello again,

I managed to getting it working by using the built in 'Profile View' and creating a 'Relationship' to the 'View Node'. This way, the Profile Fields are displayed as nodes and can be added to the content panels. It seems like the 'Node View' option, as outlined in the book, doesn't work with the new Panels 3.7 module, or at least, it doesn't work with my site.

I hope this helps anyone else also experiencing issues getting the Profile Panel working. I'll keep you updated,

Shane.

3. Does this work with Panels 3.7?

Under 4.3.2 - Panels 3 - #5, it says to Uncheck: "Link Title to Node","Teaser","Node Page","No Extras".

There is no checkbox for Teaser or Node Page that I can find in 3.7. I've followed all the steps and this is the only step where I absolutely can't find a match. And, of course, my panel doesn't work. The profile is there, but not as a panel. Any ideas or suggestions?

4. Profile with Panels 3.7

I have created a small pdf with instructions on how to display the profile using the new Panels 3.7 module. As I cant seem to be able to add files here you can email me at shaneoakley@live.com and I will send you it via email.

I hope this helps,

Shane.

Hi moosh101!

Do you have a solution for 5.1.3 with Panels 3.7?

Thanks!

6. your pdf

I also have problems viewing my profile with panel 3.7.
I can also receive your pdf? send you a email?

7. 4.4.1: Profile teaser has extra stuff

My profile shows up great, and I've turned on "Display the content's teaser" in admin/content/node-type/profile/profile and inserted the button code into the teaser template in admin/content/node-type/profile/template. That all works fine, but the button doesn't come up by itself on my My Account page. It's inside a box that's preceded by an h3 tag saying "Profile" and publishing date and author, and followed by Add New Comment and my keyword tags.

I didn't put these things in my teaser template, so I'm not sure why they're showing up here. I'm guessing I have to turn them off somewhere; any idea where? Thanks!
