Avatar and Photogallery fail to display

Thanks so much for your excellent resource!

Despite following the expert advice in the knowledge base, I've been unable to get my avatar nor my photogallery to display. I see some reference to issues with the imagecache module being buggy, but I wonder if that is my issue.

I see all images displayed when I edit. I can successfully upload new images. I have located those images under the files/ directory. I see the dialogue being presented when there are no images in a user's photogallery. I've checked permissions to ensure that authenticated users can view the thumbs field, etc. I'm using the default garland theme.

What am I missing here?

Hi,

can you check if the imagecache images are being created. The imgs on the edit page are not from imagecache. You should check in you files folder under imagecache.

No, there are no images being created in the files/imagecache directory. I've checked the permissions and they seem to be good. I've tried both an earlier and later (dev) version of imagecache, to no avail. Any suggestions?

I hadn't enabled Clean URLs. Sorry for the fire drill.
