Does Pathauto require any patterns?

Question:

Hello all. I'm not getting my profile photo gallery to link correctly. I've gone back over everything in the book and studied this knowledge base. Given we're using Pathauto, don't we need to give it some patterns, or is it okay to use the Pathauto defaults, and the rules blank?

Thanks in advance!

1. Usually the linking is done

Usually the linking is done to the real url eg /node/314.

How are you trying to link your photogallery and to what, where?

2. Dorien, Thanks for the reply.

Dorien, Thanks for the reply. I've been following your eBook and using the posted changes for Panels 3.2. The only change I made was naming it Image Gallery instead of photogallery.

For user Shelley, Starting with no gallery content, My Account links to /users/shelley. The My Account page is titled “Profile” under which is the text, “Shelley’s Image Gallery” Image Gallery tab links to /user/3/profile/image_gallery. The “Create your image Gallery” text links to /user/3/profile/image_gallery?destination=user/3. Clicking on “create your gallery” links to the picture upload page. Pictures upload fine and text on My Account page changes to “Image Gallery Shelley’s Image Gallery has been created” Clicking on Image Gallery tab links to the upload page where current pictures can be edited. However, when I go to the actual My Profile page (which has URL /node/74) there’s no image gallery displayed, just the text, “Add your pictures here” which has URL /?q=node/add/image-gallery. Also when I log in as admin and look at the Content list I see both "Shelley’s Image Gallery" Type Image Gallery and "Shelley’s Image Gallery" Type Profile. Clicking "Shelley’s Image Gallery" (Type Image Gallery) links to a blank page with no pictures.

I've been back over the book and the posts don't see what I did wrong. That's why I asked about the Pathauto setup.

Hi,

This has to do with your photogallery view.

What are the settings of your arguments?

If you have a block view, try it with a panel view and see if this makes a difference (or the other way around)

Your panel has a context node most probably. You also need to add a relationship user ID and make sure that your view uses the user ID argument.

When inserting the view into the panel page, check all of your options, see if there is a "pass arguments" box (it used to be there in rc1, not sure if it is still there)
