How to add a panel pane display with panels 3?

Question: 

I am following strictly to the book with some modifications suggested for panels 3 by Tom. Now I am stuck at step 3 in creating the avatar view. I can't find the panel pane option in the select box above add display. Do I need extra modules for the panel pane option?

I am using panels 3 beta 2. Thanks very much.

You needs views panel module, which is bundled with panels.

I should be under the heading panels. If you can't find it, create a "block view" and add the view.
