How to get field type "image"
I've got to section 4.2.3, trying to follow the Book as a cookbook, but when I try to set up a field "Avatar" there is no "image" type in the drop-down list. I have ImageField, ImageApi, and FileField active, as well as Image and ImageCache and their sub-modules. This may be related to a problem I had when I bypassed this difficulty. I was unable to get the same as Fig 4.7, in that the panel did not show "Node ID" Content, but "Node Loaded from", and there's no sign of any effect of a panel when I look at my profile page after doing the rest of the section. Drupal 6.10, with all modules updated as of today. Mac OS X 10.5.6

2. Thanks for the suggestion,
Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work for me. Widget -> File>Image was OK, but I still couldn't get an "image" type in the drop-down list.
3. Yes, The name changed
Yes,
The name changed recently to File -> Image, the rest should stay the same
The "Node ID content", you need to add yourself by clicking the +, maybe you just need to add it again.
@quchidru: you choose the field image: yourfieldname, and then when you configure the field, you can choose thickbox in the display options.

1. Image Field
Same here
But if you select file then widget -> Image it may work
or it may not
I did that and now on Add View ->Avatar there is no way I can find a field Thickbox: Thumb Image
Of course I have Thickbox module installed
