Both Avatar and Photogallery views - get white page on thumbnail enlarge

Solved
Question:

I've got thumbnail images showing on my profile page, but I can't seem to get them to enlarge. When I click on them, I get a white page rendered. I'm using thickbox (per ebook) and have tried everything to no avail.

I'd appreciate any insights.

1. Is the page totally white? It

Is the page totally white? It might be the 'white screen of death' (that's really its name). meaning that your php memory is full.

2. white screen

Hi Dorien, and thanks for your reply.

When I click on the thumbnail I get a white window superimposed on the shaded out window that had the thumbnail. It's got the title e.g. (photogallery) on the left and (Close, Esc) on the right, so I believe it's working ok, just not showing the picture. I've tried other thumbnail options besides thickbox and get the same result.

I didn't have clean urls on, so did, but get an X instead of the thumbnail pic with same result when I click on the X.

I've checked your entire knowledge base for info, tried flushing thumb and turning the imagecache modules on and off, to no avail. I'm on shared hosting, just re-fantastico'd my site and am going to start from scatch. Pretty frustrating.

I'd appreciate any direction you could give.

3. Mmmm... Are your thumbnail

Mmmm...

Are your thumbnail images being created? They should be in an imagecache folder under your /sites/default/files.

4. image not showing

After rebooting my site, and turning on clean urls, it's working - checked and it is in the thumb file

I can only assume that the problem had something to do with the sequence of events. In other words, clean urls has to be on first. Or maybe I just left something out or just screwed something up at the beginning.

FYI: When I uploaded and turned on all my modules after the reboot, the PHP option wasn't available for empty text on views. I turned some of the imagecache modules off, I got it back, and then I was able to turn them back on again, and php option is available. Phewww.

Anyhoo, I'll keep on pluggin', and thanks for your help. (What is it they say about giving a man a fish or teaching him how to fish?)
