profile panel not showing

Question:

Hi, first off I'm loving your ebook, stayed up late every night since I bought it as I'm finally getting somewhere... however I've searched, read and tried everything but can't see why my panel is not taking over.
I've done everything up to end of chap 4... and triple checked it but I must be missing something? 'My profile' takes me to the front page with all the text you get when you first install 'welcome to drupal..'
I'm a novice so basic english please :)

1. some more info

Could it be links come up as website/users/darrell instead of website/node/darrell?
in the panel-pages I have a local 'Profile' 2 column stacked node/% and an overidden 'user_profile', 2 column stacked, user/%.
if I edit 'profile' I see the node argument in the context tab and under content tab, node ID 1 profile I have entered the nodeID content on the right, Avatar Panel Pane on the left and also Node ID Comments and Comment Form... spot any mistakes yet?

2. Having a similar problem - Any luck

Hello I have the same problem. I cannot make my Panels to be the default profile. When I click on My Account I get the standard Content Profile setup without the panels.

If you have it working can you please post the solution.

thanks

3. Same problem...

I set all the permissions for the new fields, and they still don't show up when I create do a "create new account." Even after creating an account and logging in with it, I can't see the fields when I view or choose edit for the profile.

This is all horribly frustrating.

4. Moments later...

You also need to enable "edit own profile content" in permissions.

5. Same Problem

6. U can't really follow d books instruction 4 the Panel/Cont. Prof

You need to go to

1. Go to example.com/admin/build/pages

2. On the system pages area... Click on User View user/%user Section's link called Operations.

There will be a dropdown called Task Handlers... cLick through...

Follow the instructions and choose node type: profile....

I think that might help.

7. Ignore the previous remark

I am having doubts regarding the way everything is organized...

The user info is at www.example.com/user and the Content Profile is at www.example.com/node/xx

There seems to be 2 interfaces which is not very user friendly....
