Hi Dorien, and others that might know how to solve this.

I'm sitting here with the 2nd edition of the drupalfun book and I have problems with panels 3.

I have done everything exactly from chapter 4 page 39. but still when i'm all done creating the variant, my profile page is NOT blank, and it is not taking over my profile page.

If I try enabling the system user_view instead of the system node_view the panels takes over alright, but in this solution i have no way near the same amount of content that i can add to the panes.

Another thing is, that when I look at /admin/build/pages i don't see the same types as those in the book. For instance the "system user view" is not there in the book...

Perhaps you should reexamine. I do see System User View in your screenshot, it's the bottom one.

You should definately use node_view. But be sure to specify the correct variant.

Yes, the System User View is in my screenshot, what I meant is, that it is not in the book, And I was wondering why my options are not the same as in the book, but maybe its not important.

You say i should use the node_view, but using that, it does NOT take over the profile page, so what am i doing wrong there?

And also. What do you mean with profile page. I am referring to the content profile node at for instance /node/1, NOT the my account page.

I do mean the content profile when i say profile page. On page 41 you say in the book "if we navigate to our profile now, we'll see a blank page" That is not the case for me, I see my profile information, and all the fields i made in the content type for profile.

Well i have the pathauto on, that path (node/1) goes to my frontpage and nothing about the profile.

But when i click on "my account" it should be empty so i could fill the panel panes, but its not empty, my profile info is still there.

What I suspect is that you might not have a profile content yet.

can you go to /node/create and add a profile.

It's normal that you don't see it at My Account, because this is not taken over by a panel, it's only the content profile node that is taken over.

this starts so be a little bit of a mysterious problem, if you cant figure it out its allright, I'll try and find other solutions for the profile.
