Send message to profile author

Hi,
Is it possible to have a "button" or link on a profile page that a visitor to a specific profile can use to send a message to that profile author?

You can check out Author Pane module, this will automatically add a small message link when Private Message module is installed.

I don't know if you have the book, but there is a small block code in there under the section privatemsg that will allow you to do just that.
