Stomped on 4.3.1

Question: 

Folks, I'm a complete drupal newbie and I'm stomped on what to do next on section 4.3.1.

I don't get a 2. Choose a layout part when I click on Panel page.

Instead I get :

Administrative Title:
Machine Name:

etc.

Please please help... what do I do next?

I proceeded with the process of adding a Profile Panel Page... I no have this profile panel page. When I click on the gear to add content I am presented with Add Content but I cannot find the profile node I previously create with my custom fields for the user profile. AGGGHHHH I am pulling my hair out! :)

same thing here. i am stuck at "Let add this pane to our Profile panel. Make sure to use the Node ID context (fig 4.16)." I'm not sure how to add the View to the profile panel. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.
